Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG)
GFRG also referred to as FRG is primarily composed of two raw
materials: high density alpha-based gypsum and glass fiber reinforcement.
GFRG is a non-combustible material and is used exclusively for
interior application.
Fire retardant, lightweight but strong; GFRG is used in casinos,
hotels, theaters and residential structures for moldings, ceilings,
columns, light coves, bas relief, domes, capitals, fireplace
surrounds, medallions and any other custom shape.
GFRG products are custom fabricated along with the appropriate
attachment systems using advanced technologies to ensure accuracy
to specifications. GFRG can be cast into virtually any shape.
Fabricated in a white color, GFRG products can be easily painted
to any desired color. GFRG is relatively light in weight compared
to traditional stone or plaster ornaments. Its installation
is quick and relatively easy.
Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum is for use where it would not
be subject to dampness. It may not be used where it is openly
exposed to rain and for applications such as fountains and pools
that involve wet locations. For these applications please see
GFRP and GFRC.
A properly designed, manufactured and installed GFRG system
will provide an innovative and aesthetically pleasing interior
while often reducing overall cost, onsite labor requirements
and shortening construction schedules. GFRG offers an endless
variety of decorative and ornamental shapes and forms at affordable
prices.
